God Wants To Be Our Teacher 3

The teaching of men provides knowledge but the teaching of Christ when fully heard produces obedience.

John 10:27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

John 6:63: It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Matthew 4:4: But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

God*s Word deals with our hearts and is spiritual food for our souls like no other word or book that exists.

Hebrews 4:12: For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

1 Peter 2:2: As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

Psalms 25:14: The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Colossians 2:1: For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; 2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

How wonderful to have for a teacher the one In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

1 Corinthians 2:9: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Watson: Christ was more willing to work a cure upon a blind soul than ever he was to do so upon a blind body. There are none so dull and ignorant but Christ can teach them.

I believe Watson was correct when he wrote: Use your little knowledge well, and Christ will give you more.

Proverbs 16:3: Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Luke 19:17: And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

Watson used a delightful expression and an equally delightful word, neither of which I had ever heard before: Christ teaches us savingly.

Romans 10:17: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2 Timothy 3:15: And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

James 1:21: Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

God*s communications with us are not limited to words and they will never conflict with His written Word, the Bible. He teaches through our conscience and the creation.

Romans 1:19: Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
